The volcano “El Misti” is an essential part of the natural beauty of Arequipa, thus becoming a major tourist destination. The characteristics of the region make it easy to climb the volcano Misti and the opportunity to practice climbing. This is an unforgettable experience that combines the fascinating process of ascent to the summit and from there to see the incomparable view of the city of Arequipa and its surroundings.
To make the ascent to the summit of Misti it is necessary to be in good physical condition and good health.

Itinerary

DAY 1

09:00 Am Pick up from the hotel in Arequipa and we will go on a group bus for about two hours until we reach the Misti base (3,300 meters). There our porters will be waiting for us to carry all the equipment and ascend in a smooth rhythm, the walk is characterized by the landscape of puna, a sandy ground that has remains of volcanic ash, on the way we will have a brief stop for lunch and later
We will restart the walk towards the base camp (4300m.), this walk lasts approximately 6 hours. Dinner and overnight. (Camp), from there we will have a beautiful view of Arequipa especially at night with the lights of the city and in the distance the bright stars above us.

DAY 2

After a light breakfast very early we will start the ascent to the top of the Misti, walking in a gentle rhythm with frontal lanterns around 4 to 5 hours until we reach the summit at (5,825 m) and be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Chachani volcanoes and Picchu Picchu, the Aguada Blanca reserve, the Salinas Lagoon, the city of Arequipa and small towns, we will also have the impressive view of the enormous crater of the volcano. The energy that one spends to climb the Misti is recovered by contemplating the beautiful landscape that this volcano shows as its surroundings, the descent is much easier because we will descend through the sand that allows it to cushion its steps and allows it to stop easily when it is necessary until you reach the base camp, where mobility will be waiting to take us back to the city of Arequipa.
