Arrival to the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru. Puerto Maldonado – reception at the airport. Our tour starts with a tour of the city on our bus. Then we will go to Capitanía port to embark on the boat through the Madre de Dios River, during the trip we will immerse ourselves in a natural environment where we will observe the ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other species of animals.

Itinerary

DAY 01: MONOS ISLAND

Arrival to the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru. Puerto Maldonado – reception at the airport. Our tour starts with a tour of the city on our bus.

Then we will go to Capitanía port to embark on the boat through the Madre de Dios River, during the trip we will immerse ourselves in a natural environment where we will observe the ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other species of animals.

Arrival at the Lodge, and after an exquisite welcome drink we are going to install in our boungalows and lunch. In the afternoon accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit the first and unique place in the heart of the Madre de Dios River: Monkey Island, 5 minutes away from the hostel. During the walk we will observe extraordinary landscapes with a luxuriant flora, which shelters in its interior a variety of species of monkeys in its natural habitat; such as maquisapas, capuchins, little monkeys, little puffins, puffins, they are preserves, as well as other species such as coati, lazy bears, among others, and a great variety of birds. We will complete the trip around the island enjoying the most impressive sunset in the jungle. Then we will return to the lodge and complete the day with a nice dinner.

DAY 02: COCHA LOST

After breakfast, we will begin an adventure through the virgin forest accompanied by a local guide; we will make internment walks to arrive at the Lost Cocha, which constitutes an ecosystem of refuge and feeding of an immense variety of animals like otters, caimans, turtles, sachavacas, birds of multicolored plumage, the majestic jaguar and variety of fish, this zone is unique and proper of the Ecoamazonia Reserve, because it still remains intact, with immense marshes and various aguajales. Then we will arrive at the extraordinary AMAZON MIRADOR, built on the top of the most immense tree crown “SHIHUAHUACO”, from where you will be able to appreciate the magical jungle, also to take a pleasant canoe ride around the lake. Return to the hostel. Lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the wild tree plantations that are part of the botanical garden. Return to the lodge and dinner.

DAY 03: RIO GAMITANA O BRIOLO

Tambopata Ecological Reserve.
After breakfast, at a previously indicated time, we set out on another excursion through the magical jungle. First we sail along the Madre de Dios River until we reach the path where our walk to the vivid forest and its numerous meanders and large winding canals form great waterways.

We return aboard canoe, watching carefully along the way, wildlife such as turtles, alligators, butterflies and a variety of insects, eventually arriving at the lodge, where we will dine and spend the night.

DAY 04: Breakfast and transfer to the airport.

  • Flashlights (spare batteries) to locate alligators at night.
  • Bring bathing clothes and personal towel.
  • Wear lightweight but long-sleeved clothing and long pants.
  • Carry a camera with a well-charged battery.
  • Have a good book, magazines (to read while relaxing in the boat).
  • Use extra strong repellent (Relec), especially for people with clear skin. NOTICE: Mosquitoes leave between 18h-20h
  • Take vitamins before the trip, to avoid the bite of mosquitoes. But rest assured that taking the above precautions the mosquitoes will hardly bother your unforgettable trip.
  • It is recommended to bring sweets or some detail to exchange with the tribes: Boras, Yaguas and Jíbaros.
