Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo

Machu Picchu Cusco Trek picks you up from your hostel at 7:00 am to direct us on our transport to Tambomachay, which is located about 11km north of the city. This is the starting point of our adventure with a slight ascent, we will pass through Qoricocha (golden lagoon) and the Yanacocha lagoon (black lagoon). Upon reaching the highest point we will see an archaeological group of three Pre – Inca Chullpas, funerary constructions used to house Inca funerary bales. After this we will take a well deserved rest to enjoy our very consistent lunch.

Later we began to descend along the spectacular and capricious geological formation on the route to the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo, through what was once part of the Inca Trail Network that connected the entire empire and you will witness the Andean geography.

We will arrive at Huchuy Qosqo at approximately 4:30 p.m. Huchuy Qosqo It has a magnificent view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the snowy peaks that are located at the other point. Here we will prepare the camp to spend the night under the stars of the southern Andean hemisphere and at the same time we will enjoy our dinner in the camp.

Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.

We will take our nutritious breakfast at 7:00 a.m. in our Huchuy Qosqo camp, we will pack all the equipment and take pictures of the place with the sunlight. And we will also have a guided tour. In Huchuyqosqo (small Cusco), it received its name in the 20th century although it does not resemble Cusco in the least, previously it was known as Kajya Qhawana (place where lightning falls). Later you will have free time to explore on your own the terraces, temples, Huchuy Qosqo channels. At approximately 10:00 am we will begin the descent towards the Sacred Valley, arriving at the small Andean village of Lamay (3000m), our descent lasts 2 hours. In the town of Lamay, our transport will be waiting for us to take us to ollantaytambo and enjoy a typical lunch of the area later we boarded the train at 16.36 pm executive service to Aguas Calientes where a transfer awaits us to take them to their respective hotel.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco.

This day we offer a buffet breakfast at the Hotel, then we go to the bus station to travel for 30 minutes to the lost city of the Incas “Machu Picchu”. We will enjoy a guided tour of the main buildings of the citadel: Agricultural, Urban, Military, Craft, Intihuatana, Temple of the Condor, Temple of the Sun, etc. At the end of the tour you have free time to visit, then return by bus to hot springs where every 10 minutes is the exit to then be at the train station according to the time of ticket, to travel to the town of Ollantaytambo followed by the transfer Ollantaytambo – Cusco in tourist bus.
