The name of the city: Our Lady of La Paz was granted to the city during its foundation by Alonso de Mendoza. It was the third city founded in the present territory of Bolivia after Sucre (1538) and Potosí (1545). Its name commemorates the restoration of peace after the civil war that followed the insurrection of Gonzalo Pizarro against Blasco Núñez Vela, first viceroy of Peru.
It begins with a visit to the Killi Killi viewpoint that allows us to appreciate the city with a range of almost 360 degrees, then go to the Textile Museum, the replica of the semi-subterranean Temple of Tiwanaku, the residential neighborhoods of the southern area , and finish [Moon Valley La Paz] visiting the Valley of the Moon, where erosion has caused stony forms that give the visitor the feeling of being in a true lunar landscape.
Then we will go to the artisan zone, the exotic market of the Warlocks and the Church of San Francisco.
Lunch In the afternoon we continue our tour visiting the area of the Andes where we can appreciate the work done by the artisans making our folklore costumes.
We will continue visiting Colonial Jaén street with its interesting Museums, then Plaza Murillo where we will visit the Cathedral and appreciate the Government Palace and Congress. Finally, we will see the National Museum of Art, a beautiful construction from the 18th century that belonged to Francisco Tadeo Diez de Medina, an important landowner of the time.
