During the decades of 50 and 60 of the twentieth century, the historic center of Lima entered a phase of modernization with the construction of numerous apartment buildings and offices. However, from 1970, the area underwent a process of deterioration. During the 1980s the process aggravated suffering area increased vehicular traffic.
In 1988, UNESCO declared the Convent of San Francisco and later in 1991 he did extensive Lima’s historic center as a World Heritage Site.

Armas, the Archiepiscopal and municipal palaces, the station of the destitute and old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish style balconies. Municipality of Lima, the Temple of San Francisco where we will visit the cloisters, catacombs, and the religious museum, we tour the main streets where the colonial mansions are located.
